The Eastleigh Business District Association has voiced support for DPP Noordin Haji’s nomination as the Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
The association through its chairman Mzee Ahmed Yare, said Haji’s commendable experience in law enforcement and the justice system complemented by his steadfast commitment to upholding the rule of law, renders him an exceptionally qualified candidate for the crucial role.
“In his career, Haji has made remarkable contributions including his exemplary work at the Attorney General’s Office and his previous position as the Deputy Director of the Counter Organised Crime Unit at the NIS, ” Yare said.
He added that Haji has spearheaded significant reforms within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Yare said Haji oversaw reforms such as the successful deployment of an electronic filing system, significantly enhancing service delivery, and establishment of the Prosecution Training Institute (PTI).
He said Haji’s progressive review of policies and guidelines in the prosecution sector has disrupted the outdated and corrupt system of the past.
“Even earning him adversaries amongst those who benefited from it,” Yare said.
He added that Haji’s dedication to working with social justice centers demonstrates his commitment to nurturing a fair society.
Eastleigh Business Community in Nairobi have ever noted that Haji has purposely collaborated with human rights groups and community-based organizations to advocate human rights, combat extrajudicial killings, champion the rights of women and marginalized groups, and resist injustice.
“His efforts have helped create a safer and more equitable community where justice is accessible to all,” AhmedYare affirmed.
“He did well as the DPP, why are those opposed to his appointment only seeing the cases he withdrew and turning a blind eye to those he prosecuted?”
Sheikh Buya member of the association at the same time also lauded President Ruto for his war against graft in the country.
“As clerics, we welcome the new zeal that the President has demonstrated to end the vice. Corruption continues to be a thorn in the flesh for the government and has stalled development and the improvement of the lives of Kenyans for years,” Buya said.
Sheikh Buya urged Kenyans to give the President time to deliver on his promises during this economic quagmire moments for Kenyans urging the nation to throw weight behind the head of state.
“The problem is that we like politicking a lot, let us focus on how we can work together to develop the country. The President I believe has the best interest of Kenyans at heart, let us give him time to deliver on his promises,” he said.
