It was pomp and color in Samburu North constituency as the Turkana Cultural extravaganza called “tobong’u nawi” kicked off at Nachola Centre, Nachola Ward today… groups from Kawap, Nachola, Marti, Lomirok, and Natiir all came to showcase their musical prowess—from Folk dances to lullabies and women’s music truly a historic event for the Turkana community of Samburu county!
The MPs from Turkana East Hon. Nicholas Ngolong and Hon Emathe Namuar from Turkana Central also honored us with their presence, and they spoke passionately about matters of peace and unity amongst the Samburu and Turkana community residing in Samburu North… sentiments that I greatly support and echo.
In attendance also were the MCAs Ndooto Hon Ali Lealmusia, nominated MCAs Sarah Lekirenyei and Jane Loregae amongst hundreds of guests who turned Nachola into a bristling trading post today full of cafes and entertainment joints!
Truly the fruits of peace are beginning to show up and tranquility among the residents. The area Mp Hon Eli was categorically happy and pleased with such events in the area.
