Naivas Marks 35th Anniversary, Honoring Employees and partners as the Cornerstone of success

Naivas Supermarket, Kenya’s largest retailer, today celebrates its 35th anniversary by hosting a dedicated Family Fun Day at The Waterfront in Karen, exclusively for thousands of its customers, employees and valued partners.

This event underscores the company’s profound gratitude to those who have been the driving force behind its remarkable journey from a single shop in Nakuru to a national powerhouse.

Unlike traditional customer-facing events, this celebration is a strategic investment in the Naivas employees whose dedication builds the brand daily and the supplier partners whose collaboration ensures quality and value for millions of Kenyan households.

The day features a suite of activities, including a children’s play zone, an exhibition from over 60 suppliers, music entertainment, and great food experiences – fostering unity, fun, and shared achievement. The event also serves as the official launch pad for “Books & Dreams”, Naivas’ ambitious new corporate social responsibility initiative.

This nationwide drive aims to collect and distribute over 100,000 books and stationery items to 94 needy primary schools across all 47 counties, reinforcing Naivas’ deep commitment to educational development and community empowerment.

A Legacy Built on People and Partnerships “For 35 years, our success has been built on two pillars: our people and our partners,” said Andreas Von Paleske, Chief of Strategy at Naivas. “This day is a heartfelt thank you to them.

It is also a launchpad for the future. The ‘Books & Dreams’ initiative reflects our core belief that true growth is about more than profit; it’s about purpose. By empowering the next generation through literacy, we are investing in Kenya’s future leaders.”

The initiative, which will run until January 2026 across all 110+ Naivas stores, will rally employees, partners, and customers to contribute to this cause, demonstrating Naivas’ role as a catalyst for positive social change.

A Celebration of Shared Growth The Family Fun Day reflects Naivas’ culture: vibrant, family-orientated, and collaborative. It highlights the company’s commitment to not only being the best place to work but also the best partner to grow with. The event provides a unique opportunity for face-to-face engagement between Naivas’ leadership, staff from all levels, and key supplier partners, strengthening relationships that are critical to the ecosystem that serves the Kenyan consumer.
