Naivas Supermarket Refutes False Claims on Expired Products and Alleged Branch Closures

Naivas Supermarket has firmly denied recent claims circulating on social media alleging the sale of expired products and the closure of its Nairobi branches by authorities. The retailer has dismissed the reports as false, misleading, and damaging to both the brand and the public trust it has built.

In an official statement, Naivas reassured customers and partners that:

No expired products have been found on its shelves. The company maintains robust internal quality control and stock management systems to ensure all items meet national health and safety standards.

No store closures have occurred. All Naivas outlets remain fully operational and in full compliance with Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), the Ministry of Health, and other regulatory bodies.

The claims being circulated are entirely fabricated and potentially harmful to consumers who rely on Naivas for safe, essential goods.

Naivas further stated that it is seeking legal counsel on pursuing formal action against those spreading the false information, including individuals and entities using extortionary tactics.

“We uphold the highest standards of integrity,” the statement concluded. “Naivas has a strict anti-bribery and corruption policy and will not submit to any form of intimidation or misinformation.”

The supermarket chain has urged the public to verify information through official channels and continues to prioritize transparency and consumer safety.
