SportPesa’s Tujiamini programme empowers rising football talent and expands support to women and community initiatives in 2025.
Kamukuywa Grounds, Western Kenya — Rockstar FC, proud beneficiaries of the Tujiamini Cheza Dimba initiative, shared their inspiring growth story at Kamukuywa grounds, describing their rise in football as a “sweet journey”.
The team, under the Tujiamini sponsorship since March 2024, has steadily climbed from grassroots football to earning a spot in Division 2. Speaking on behalf of the team, Manager Ronald Mugeira expressed gratitude for the KSh 250,000 sponsorship that has transformed the team’s operations.
“We used to rely on monthly harambees to take part in tournaments,” said Mugeira. “Now we are able to fund an entire season with ease and have also built a strong fan base.”He encouraged other grassroots teams to apply for the opportunity through tujiamini.co.ke, urging them to believe in their potential.
Tujiamini 2025, powered by SportPesa, continues to make a lasting impact across Kenya. This year, the initiative is prioritizing support for women’s football by awarding a KSh 50,000 one-off prize and full kits to winning ladies’ grassroots teams, reinforcing its commitment to gender equality and fair play in sports.
Speaking on behalf of SportPesa, Debra Maina, PR and Advertising Executive, emphasised the program’s long-term vision. “This is year two of Tujiamini. We want to reach more teams and communities. Rockstar FC is a great example. Next year, your team could be telling its story too,” she said.
Beyond football, Tujiamini is also rolling out the Gold Community Award, investing KSh 1 million per region in community-based projects that uplift society. The campaign is currently active in the Western region, with applications open for Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards, as well as Cheza Dimba categories for both male and female teams.
