Sky Russian Film Makes History with Kenyan Premiere

Russian Film “Mission: Sky” Continues Free Screenings at Motion Cinema, Greenspan Mall
Following the successful and colourful premiere of the Russian feature film Mission.
Sky on 15 August 2026 at Motion Cinema, Greenspan Mall, Nairobi, Path to Russia is pleased to announce that the film will continue to be screened for the public free of charge for two weeks, beginning 17 August 2026.
The premiere marked a significant cultural milestone as Mission: Sky became the first Russian film to have an official premiere in Kenya, bringing Russian cinema and culture closer to Kenyan audiences.
The film, directed by Igor Kopylov, is a 2021 Russian feature film based on real-life events.
The Kenyan theatrical screenings have been authorized by Triiks Media Production Film Company, represented by its General Director Ivan Krivenko.
According to the official permission granted by Triiks Media, the film is authorized for non-commercial theatrical screenings at Motion Cinema in Kenya. The authorization provides for the premiere on 15 August 2026, followed by 14 regular screenings over two weeks, with one screening per day, commencing on 17 August 2026.
Path to Russia is encouraging members of the public, students, cultural enthusiasts, filmmakers, families and anyone interested in international cinema to take advantage of this unique opportunity to watch Mission: Sky free of charge at Motion Cinema during the two-week screening period.
